MANCHESTER NEIGHBOURHOOD AT THE CAMP FOR CLIMATE ACTION

A CAMP IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND TO BRING TOGETHER THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE AND SHARE AND LIVE PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS.

Do Summat are trying to kickstart the organising for a neighbourhood at the camp for climate action. See here for info about the camp.

We want to organise to have a space at the camp where we can live together for the 10 days including a kitchen, meeting space and camping space. Also to help the camp as a whole in promoting it beforehand and encourgaing people from Manchester to get involved in working groups to set up and run the camp.

We meed every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at The Basement, 24 Lever St M1 (off piccadilly gardens)

(please be aware of this space's current access problems- via a flight of stairs)

meetings for those wishing to be part of the manchester neighbourhood at the camp for climate action, and also build up links of people in manchester wanting to take action on climate change.

Manchester Neighbourhood Events Coming Up:

Monday 29th May, 12-4pm, Chorlton Green, Manchester Neighbourhood Summer Fair

with:
Information about the Camp for Climate Action and climate change..
Games inc. tug 'o' war, eco footprint games, smack the rat etc.
workshops inc. how to make useful stuff out of rubbish
vegan cake stall
tombola
stalls: The Camp for Climate Action, Unicorn, Manchester Biodiesel, The Basement, FoE..

And dance to the samba band!

a bicycle ride will be leaving from all saints park to the green at
11.30am to ride together in an anti climate change stylee...

Friday 2nd June 8pm, at the Basement, 24 Lever St M1, Speed Dating Night

hang out, meet people, find the love of your life! (or maybe someone to
snog or somethin)

with nonsense games like musical chairs and murder in the dark.
£3 donation to the manchester neighbourhood.

Please pass on to everyone you know that might fancy it..no matter what city they live in, some cross breeding would be good!!! and its a nice opportunity to have some fun and hang out with people from other places before the camp..

The neighbourhood will be a manchester space at the camp that will consist of a meeting space for the manchester group, camping space, kitchen to feed manchester group, workshops and activities.

The meeting will look at:

fundraising for our neighbourhood- planning events etc.

publicity- promotion of the camp and the manchester neighbourhood

stuff- what stuff we need to get for our space e.g. pans etc.

activities and workshops- before to raise awareness and during the

camp.

how our space will work (kitchen, camping space, meeting space etc)
